Classes
You are allowing time and gravity to help deepen poses, which gives your body time to adjust and loosen into them.
Poses are held anywhere from 3-5 minutes, and there is an option to use assistive props (bolsters, pillows, blankets, blocks, straps, etc) in order to make the pose as comfortable as possible while still challenging the ligaments and muscles to loosen. You want to get a little bit "uncomfy" so you can feel the stretch and push your body just a bit out of the comfort zone.
Classes start with a meditation/pranayama (breathing exercise) and end with a savasana.
Yin Yoga is offered every Sunday and Wednesday from 6pm-6:45pm during the winter months, and from 6:30pm-7:15pm June-September.
You move along with your breath to transition into new poses, creating a continuous flow.
This practice cultivates strength, flexibility, balance, and mindfulness. Each movement is linked to either an inhale or an exhale, creating a beautiful rhythmic flow.
The class can support babies to pre-teens, engaging and meeting each mom/kid duo where they are at.
The class is geared toward the children, with mom learning some new tips and tricks on how to engage with their children in movement. Recommended ages are 0-10.
